Spectrolab is a company involved in manufacturing and marketing a   range of scientific instruments and systems around the world.     
Essentially we have four major marketing activities that can be  divided  into the following groups
1. General Spectroscopy        2. Molecular and Atomic Structure determination   
3. Electro and Laser Optics    4. Physical Sciences    
We  manufacture in the UK and elsewhere.  Our products are  predominantly  of UK manufacture and as with all international companies  we often use  parts from several other countries including the USA, Asia  and Europe.   All shipments are from our facilities in the UK
UV-Vis-IR Spectrophotometers
The model S10 series of Spectrophotometers are a wide range of high performance instruments that include both single and double beam designs. The range includes Xenon light source and D2 models. The range also includes visible, ultra violet and near infra red models covering a wavelength range of 190nm to 1100nm. Resolution options include 0.1nm to 4.0nm according to choice. Excellent software is provided along with a wide range of useful accessories. These include auto samplers, variable temperature cuvettes, and reflection attachments making it easy for absorption, transmission and kinetic spectrophotometry.

Includes glass, quartz and polymer cuvettes. D2 lamps, W lamps and a range of attachments that allow all types of UV Vis spectrophotometry and colorimetry

FTIR Infra Red Spectroscopy
Our model S70 FTIR spectrophotometers provide a choice of instruments suitable for research laboratories, industry and colleges. The range includes high resolution instruments providing a resolution of 0.5cm-1 as well as basic inexpensive instruments with a resolution of 4.0cm-1These are reliable and extremely versatile research grade FTIR spectrophotometers offering very high S:N and a wide range of accessories including ATR, DRIFT and SR. We offer a reasonably priced infra red microscope in addition to diamond ATR accessories. The S70 series FTIR is a “state of the art” Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer that accommodates all types of infra red spectroscopy
 
Sample Handling for FTIR
 
We offer a full range of support products including IR sample handling accessories. IR sample handling options include, ATR, specular reflection, DRIFT, disposable mounts presses and mills. Also variable path length cells, KBR powder, hand held and hydraulic presses, windows etc. We have an extensive range of infra red data bases most of which are free.
Atomic Absorption spectrometers including unique models with simultaneous multichannel capability
The model S44 series of atomic absorption spectrophotometers are an easy to use and very versatile range of instruments used in many laboratories, universities and colleges around the world. These remarkable instruments are extremely rugged and combine high sensitivity with a small footprint. They are also extremely reliable.
 
Our latest auto lab series are multichannel AAS spectrometers able to measure multiple elements simultaneously or sequentially, similar to plasma emission spectroscopy but at a fraction of the cost.
 
The S44 range includes portable versions available for users who wish to move there laboratory to different sites or locations. We also have a range of AAS with graphite furnaces. The S44 series are microprocessor based and do not require a PC. However PC options are also available along with excellent analytical software. We offer a complete range of accessories including inexpensive hollow cathode lamps and elemental standards. We also offer a range of Hydride options including attachments for Mercury analysis. Atomic absorption is the preferred technique for trace element analysis providing ppm and ppb sensitivity for all applications. Our atomic absorption spectrophotometers can also be used as high sensitivity flame photometers as well as for atomic fluorescence spectroscopy
 
Sample handling and inexpensive hollow cathode lamps for AAS
 
Our most popular products are a complete range of inexpensive hollow cathode lamps typically costing just $100 each and being less than half the price of other manufacturers are currently the best value in the world. We also offer element standards in liquid form
Five and three element multichannel automatic Flame Photometers
The Model S20 is a microprocessor controlled digital five element automatic flame photometer and is currently the best value for money flame instrument of its type. It is well suited to all types of use including research, environmental, clinical and teaching applications.  We also manufacture a combined flame/AAS instrument for very high performance analysis of hydrides
Atomic Fluorescence
There is a growing interest in ultra high sensitivity analysis of hydrides, mercury etc and particularly elements such as As, Sb, Bi, Se, Te, Pb, Sn, Hg, Cd, Ge, Zn, Au, Cu, Ag, Co. Atomic fluorescence is an acceptable way of analysing these elements at sensitivities better than ppb. We offer a range of atomic fluorescence instruments suitable for lab use, remote sensing and at site applications. Portable instruments are available which can be used in any outside environment allowing long term pollution to be recorded and monitored
MWDXRF EDXRF WDXRF X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometers Carbon to Uranium
MWDXRF models are available for all applications. All models offer sub ppm sensitivity often with an LLD of just 0.1ppm and an element range of Carbon to Uranium. Specialist models are also available for oil analysis in addition to environmental, heavy and light elements, all solids and liquids can be analysed using both portable and desk top models. MWDXRF is the leading technology in the field of X-ray analysis and our instruments are unique to this market
 
 
Small compact EDXRF models are available for analyzing gold and precious metals in addition to alloys, steel or semi conductors. Vacuum EDX systems are also a standard product
 
 
Sulphur / Chlorine in oil analyzers. We offer a range of instruments for this application offering a wide choice of models designed specifically for the analysis of oil and other liquids. They have been designed to be very sensitive to all elements present in oil in addition to sulphur  and chlorine
 
 
Rosh and WEEE. The European directives relating to recycling materials are quite specific regarding elements of interest and limits of detection. Our unique analyzers can quickly determine any elements present from Mg to U and specifically Cd Cadmium, Hg Mercury, Hexa valent Chromium (Cr6), and Poly-Brominated Bi-Phenyl Ethers PBDE Also Pb, Cr, Br, Cl, As, Sb etc. Both desk top and hand held instruments are available for this application
 
 
Hand Held XRF Our extensive range of hand held EDXRF instruments are perfect for mineralogy, environmental, geology. metallurgy and all general applications including assaying and precious metal analysis.
 
These rugged and reliable X-ray fluorescence instruments are easy to use instruments that can be operated by anyone. No special services are required. Installation is very simple and we can complete your installation for you on line. We also offer on line technical support anywhere in the world

Raman systems 488nm to 1064nm
Include a unique bench top instrument plus a range of hand held and portable instruments which are especially useful for quality control applications. In addition the range includes portable instrument for street drug identification and explosives.  A wide range of accessories are also available including fibre optic probes and SERS components. We also offer a range of hyper spectral systems, Micro Raman and everything else to do with Raman. Recently we introduced a new hand held model for clinical and medical applications called Mediscreen designed with 1064 nm and 785 nm excitation. We supply a range of optical monochromators suitable for Raman Spectroscopy
Microwave Digesters
For both routine and high capacity applications our MWD series allow the use of multiple digestive vessels operating with variable temperatures and pressures. Four models are available up to 3KW with specifications that will suit most requirements
Microscopes
This is an extensive range of microscopes of all types. The range includes simple student models to fully equipped metallurgical microscopes. We also have a unique range of microscope CCD cameras and imaging analysis systems in addition to “plug in “ image analysis systems that will interface to all other types of commercial microscope. Total Organic Carbon Analysis TOC
Our Total Organic Carbon analyser is available in several forms allowing the user to measure either catalytic combustion oxidation or wet chemical oxidation

An introduction to Spectroradiometry
A unique range of instruments for measuring irradiance, spectral radiance and/or spectral flux. This data can then be interfaced to a  PC allowing the instrument to calculate other parameters such as Irradiance (W/cm2), Illuminance (lux or fc), Radiance (W/sr), Luminance (cd), Flux (Lumens or Watts), Chromaticity, Color Temperature, Peak and Dominant Wavelength. More complex spectrometer software packages also allow calculation of PAR µmol/m²/s, Metamerism, and candela calculations based on distance and include features like 2- and 20-degree observer, baseline overlay comparisons, transmission and reflectance.

Near Infra Red Spectroscopy
The analysis of material characterised by absorption or emission in the wavelength range 900 – 2600nm

The hardware consists of a solid state miniature spectrometer and an InGas detector coupled to a fibre optic probe. A light source is also available along with appropriate applications software.
 
The instrument is simple, inexpensive and highly reliable.

The XL-10 is a budget priced desk top powder Xray diffraction model  that fulfils the needs of many users and can be applied to research,  QA, teaching and all other needs

Nanaospec Nano Spectrophotometer
The Nanospec series of micro spectrophotometers allow nano analysis on a range of samples including DNA, nucleic acid, proteins, bacteria and micro organisms. The instrument has a wide wavelength range of  200 - 800nm and only requires a sample volume of 0.5-1.0 µl.  Analysis is completed in just 8 seconds with an absorbance range of 0-4 ABS.  An integrated printer is available and data can be exported by USB to a PC. The instrument employs a touch screen for easy operation and intuitive software is included

Spectrolab is located in the south of England. Our sales office is about one-hour west of London on the M4 motorway. Some of our X-ray Fluorescence activities are marketed through our Anaspec Division. We provide after sales service for all products that we sell in all countries around the world and we support our representatives fully. We have distributors in most countries and  offices in the UK, Dubai, Greece and Hong Kong. We have 2 research companies involved in developing Medical Raman for clinical applications and Mirror X-ray Diffracting X-ray fluorescence for sub ppm element analysis. We are also developing our PetroStar analyzers for oil and gasoline analysis
